Maple Wind Farm, owned by Bruce Hennessey and Beth Whiting, is a diversified pasture-based livestock, poultry, organic vegetable, and maple products farm located on two conserved properties in Huntington and Richmond, VT.
Bruce and Beth began farming in 1999 and have been dedicated to working within the farm ecology, utilizing natural processes whenever possible. Maple Wind integrates livestock management with organic vegetable program to increase fertility and build soil for high quality vegetable produce. They use high-value compost produced from cows, pigs and chickens to continue building vibrant, biologically active soils. Recognizing that centuries of agricultural activity has depleted even our best managed soils of essential minerals, trace elements and micro-nutrients, Maple Wind Farm has committed to building back the capacity of the soil to produce the most nutrient-dense vegetables available. Cover cropping, compost spreading and minimal tillage help maintain the soil for future planting.
