Grapes

The Basics

Grapes are a type of berry that can be crimson, black, dark blue, yellow, green, orange, or pink in color. They can be eaten raw or used to make jam, juice, jelly, vinegar, wine, raisins, molasses, or grape seed oil. The U.S. is the third largest producer of grapes, after Italy and China. Storage Tips

Before refrigerating grapes, be sure to remove any spoiled grapes with broken skins or browning spots.

Nutrition

Grapes are a great source of vitamin C, vitamin K, and copper. They are also full of phytochemicals, including resveratrol, an antioxidant that has been linked to preventing cancer, heart disease, degenerative nerve disease, and viral infections.
