Sprouts

Sprouts can refer to a wide variety of edible shoots of germinated beans, seeds, or grains. Some of the most popular sprouts come from mung beans, alfalfa, broccoli, radishes, adzuki beans, sunflower seeds, lentils, and peas. Here at Boston Organics, we get our sprouts from Jonathon's Sprouts in Rochester, MA.

Sprouts are an excellent source of many essential vitamins and minerals. For example, mung bean sprouts are high in vitamin C, folate, fiber, vitamin K, and manganese. (See more sprout nutrition facts on Self.com.)

Refrigerate your sprouts in a loose plastic bag perforated with a few holes so that water doesn't condense. If your sprouts arrived in a plastic clam-shell container you can refrigerate them in the container. Try to use as quickly as possible for the best flavor and texture.
