Produce Info, Storage Tips and Recipes

Tangelos

The Basics

The tangelo is a citrus fruit that is a hybrid of a tangerine and grapefruit. Tangelos taste a lot like extra juicy tangerines and have a skin that's easier to peel than oranges. (Read more about tangelos on Wikipedia.)

Storage Tips

Short-term, tangerines/tangelos will keep well at a cool room temperature. For longer-term storage, keep them in the refrigerator.

Nutrition

Tangelos are high in fiber, potassium, thiamin, and vitamin A, and (like all citrus fruit) is very high in vitamin C. Vitamin C is a natural antioxidant that helps support the immune system, build healthy tissues, and maintain healthy bones, teeth, and blood vessels.
